Suspension components are what allows your motorcycle to safely and comfortably track over the bumps, cracks, and other surface irregularities. With out suspension no motorcycle rider would have any tooth fillings left. There are several suspension shops that sell various products to enhance the suspension action of motorcycles, but no one solution can fix every problem. That's why we use the best combination of components we can find.

In many cases the stock fork pistons have more than enough flow and do not need to be replaced. In other models both compression and rebound pistons must be replaced for optimum performance. In all forks careful attention to detail is the key to best performance. We spend a considerable amount of time deburring and polishing the sliding components of a fork. This results in a fork that has reduced friction and stiction. Revalving is done by selecting the best stock or after market components and setting up the correct damping curve for the application. The spring rates are selected based on rider weight, ability, and riding style and conditions. Even the oil we used has been carefully selected based on lubricity, stability, viscosity, and feel. ( Oils with the same technical specs still feel different both on the bench and on the bike.) This attention to detail results in a fork that is both firm ( no wallowing) and plush ( Won't knock out your fillings on big bumps.)

Shocks are a different story. With few exceptions the best money is in the after market. We currently recommend three brands, Penske, Ohlins and Elka . These shock will work extremely well in 99% of all the conditions you will see both riding and racing. Alternate spring rates are readily available for all three brands and rebuilding and revalving is easy and cost effective. For more information on a particular brand go to Penske Racing Shocks , Ohlins or Elka. There are some stock shocks that we will rebuild or revalve most notably the late model GSXR's call for more information on stock shocks.

Fork Revalving

Fork revalving involves complete disassembly of the entire front fork. All parts are put through a three-step cleaning process involving two wash tanks, a final rinse with brake cleaner and blown dry with compressed air. The compresson and rebound circuits are disassembled and inspected. Pistons and valve specifications are then selected based on rider weight, type of riding and model of fork. Spring rates are also selected based on the same criteria. All parts are then given a final inspection and damping cartridges are then re-assembled. The remaining fork parts, sliders, bushings, tubes, etc. are also inspected for wear and damage and replaced if needed.

Forks are then assembled with new seals and fresh oil. Spring pre-load and damping adjustments are set to our baseline settings. When you receive your revalved forks, they are ready to be installed. Fine tune adjustments can be made after riding.

If at any time you have questions, we can be reached by phone or e-mail. We attend all LRRS events and many track days.

Advice, adjustments and consultation are always included with every fork job.

We are confident you will be pleased with our work as delivered. If any of the spring rate or damping specifications need to be revised, for your particular application, we will do so at no charge.
